A small engineering team in Brașov, with a single operating principle: you should be able to read exactly what your bot does before it places a trade.
From manual trading desks to documented automation
Atelier & Co was founded in Brașov in 2020 by two software engineers who had spent the previous four years building order-management systems for a mid-sized Romanian brokerage. That experience taught them two things: that most retail automation tools hide their execution logic behind closed interfaces, and that traders who understand every rule their system follows make better decisions when markets behave unexpectedly. The company was built to fix that gap. From the first project — a simple moving-average crossover bot for a Brașov-based trader — every engagement has followed the same process: written specification first, code second. By the end of 2022, the team had delivered automation for twenty-six distinct strategies, ranging from intraday equity scalpers to weekly futures mean-reversion systems. In 2023, a third engineer joined to focus exclusively on the monitoring dashboard infrastructure, reducing average dashboard provisioning time from two weeks to one business day. Today the team of five serves clients across Romania, Germany, and the Netherlands — almost all of them referred by existing clients.
How we work — and what we do not do
Every project at Atelier & Co follows a four-stage process. Stage one is the scoping session: a structured sixty-minute conversation (conducted via video call or in person at our Brașov office) in which we map every rule, condition, and exception in your strategy onto a written specification. Stage two is development: we build the bot against that specification, with no undocumented additions. Stage three is backtesting: the bot runs against historical tick data, and you receive a structured report before any live connection is made. Stage four is integration and handover: we connect to your broker account, verify execution on a paper-trading environment, and hand you dashboard access on go-live day. We do not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or trading signals. We do not guarantee trading outcomes — a bot executing a flawed strategy will execute that flaw more consistently, not less. Clients who are new to systematic trading are encouraged to spend time with a strategy before automating it; rushing automation is the most common source of disappointment we observe. Our indigo-tech workspace and clean dashboard interfaces are designed to reflect exactly that philosophy: precision and clarity over spectacle.
